- Add some liquid dishwashing detergent to a bowl of warm water. Stir the mixture until it foams slightly.
- Dip a clean white cloth in the detergent water and squeeze out the excess water. Gently press the cloth onto the stain, wiping the stain with circular motions. To prevent the stain from penetrating further into the carpet, frequently clean the stain from the cloth and dip the cloth back into the detergent water.
- Once you are sure that the stain is gone, dip another clean cloth in warm water to remove any detergent residue from the carpet.
